Blac Chyna's bestie to host a baby shower for baby Kardashian, Rob's sisters not attending


A new baby shower is being planned for Blac Chyna & Rob Kardashian, and it will be hosted by Chyna’s best friend, Sylvia Karapetian. According to Us Weekly, there will be approximately 60 guests at the baby shower on October 2nd in Woodland Hills, California, including friends of both Chyna, Kardashian, and that Chyna’s family will be flying in to celebrate.



However, Rob’s famous sisters: Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian will reportedly not be attending. This is probably in reaction to Rob lashing out against his sister Kylie on Twitter.

PDP supporters reject Edo election result

Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have staged a protest against the outcome of the Edo state gubernatorial election.

The protest was carried out in front of the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday, September 29.

The supporters carrying placards claimed that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the PDP was the winner of the election as against reports that Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress was in pole position to win the election.

Court grants ex Naval chief, Usman Jibrin, N100m bail over N600m fraud

A. S. Umar of the FCT High Court sitting in Maitama has granted bail to a former Chief of Naval Staff, Usman Jibrin, and two others who are currently standing trial for an offence bordering on criminal conspiracy brought against them by the EFCC. Others are retired rear admirals, Bala Mshelia, Sheu Ahmadu and a company, Harbour Bay International Limited.

According to the antigraft agency, the accused persons while in office, bought a house worth N600million from the account of Naval Engineering Services without the said purchase contract being captured in the budget.

Investigations by the EFCC reportedly showed that the documentation for transfer of ownership of the property was done such that a private company owned by the family of the first defendant (Vice Admiral Jubrin) became the buyer.

At the hearing of their bail application yesterday, the presiding judge granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N100 million each with two sureties each in like sum. One of sureties must not be below salary grade level 16.

The sureties must have landed properties within the jurisdiction of the court which must be verified by the registrar of the court and the EFCC. They are to be remanded in prison until they fulfill all their bail conditions. Commencement of their trial has been slated for November 14th and 15th

We are already coming out of recession- Kemi Adeosun


Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, yesterday said Nigeria was already coming of the economic recession. Speaking at the end of a two-day National Council of Finance and Economic Development conference held in Abeokuta, Ogun state yesterday September 28th, Adeosun said the measures being taken by the Federal government is an indication that the economy is on its way out of recession.


“We are already getting out of recession because of the actions the federal government is taking. If you are in a problem, the day you start to step towards progression, you are already getting out of it, we are getting out of it. We are investing more in capital than we have ever invested. We are sorting out infrastructure, we are stopping wastage and so the sign of recovery already there” she said

Photos: Petrol tanker kills six in Akwa Ibom, some burnt beyond recognition

Six people were killed, with some of them burnt beyond recognition, after a petrol tanker driver lost control and rammed into a stationed tricycle with its driver and passengers in it, at Calabar Itu expressway at Obong junction Akwa Ibom at about 7pm on September 26th. The tricycle popularly known as Keke Napep, went up in flames, burning all the occupants. See the graphic photos after



school building collapses in Lagos

A school building collapsed at Ajose street, Amukoko Apapa this morning. The building has since been sealed. One person was reportedly killed in the incident. More photos after the cut.

Update: Fulani Herdsmen who kidnapped Catholic Priest in Enugu demand for N2.5 million ransom


Some Catholic priests were attacked by Fulani Herdsmen in Enugu State on Sept 26th, (Read here). According to reports, the priests Rev Fr Chetanna Jude Chukwuneke, Fr Emmanuel Dim and Fr Prof Ezeokana were in a car passing along Obimo in Uzo-Uwani when the suspected herdsmen emerged from a bush in a bad spot of the road, and attacked. While Fr Chukwuenke and Fr Prof Ezeokana escaped, Fr Emmaniuel Dim was abducted. A 2.5 million Naira ransom has now been demanded before he is released. 


This was revealed today by the Director of Communications at the Nnewi Catholic Diocese, Rev. Fr. Hygi Aghaulor. According to him, the kidnappers of Rev. Fr. Dim - the Rector of Fr. Tansi Major Seminary in Onitsha, Anambra, have demanded a ransom for his release. Aghaulor confirmed that Dim was kidnapped around 7 p.m while the three catholic priests were returning from Nsukka to Onitsha and Nnewi.

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference has however directed that no ransom be paid. Aghaulor requested that Nigerians join hands to pray the priest's release.
“We call on people of goodwill to continue to pray for the immediate release of the Vincentian priest. We are tempted to wonder if Nigeria is on the verge of collapse. All over the country, women are being raped and intimidated, innocent Nigerians are being slaughtered,’’ Aghaulor said.

A drunk police officer has allegedly stripped naked a woman, Mary Njeri, in public and later beat her up together with her infant son.

This was said to have happened at Mwituria village, Laikipia county in Kenya. An in-law to the victim had reported at the Ngobit police station that her two sacks of beans had been stolen. This made a plain-clothed police officer to come down to the village to investigate the matter. But he was drunk.
     .        During his supposed investigation, the officer saw a dry leaf of beans in Mary Njeri compound and accused her of being the culprit behind the stealing stolen sacks of beans. The angry residents noticing the officer was drunk tried to attack him and this was said to have angered oga officer after taking the woman to a police station where she was stripped naked and beaten together with her 13-year-old son.

The officer also claimed his handcuffs which he dropped while drunk was stolen by the woman.

”He said that I had stolen the handcuffs from him and he started dragging me around as he beat me. He kept saying I was hiding the handcuffs under my dress so he removed my clothes and dragged me outside,
